Ahmadinejad is laughing!
Iran's President Ahmadinejad continues to get away with murder and the threat of genocide.Iran is continuing to make steady progress on its uranium enrichment program.
Yes, the American press will criticize him, and American politicians will speak about the need to confront him.
But a decision needs to be made NOW!
A bi-partisan group of experts wrote in The Wall Street Journal that "Iran's desire for nuclear weapons is one of the most urgent issues facing America today, because even the most conservative estimates tell us that they could have nuclear weapons soon.
"
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran now has 3,800 uranium enrichment centrifuges in operation and a large percentage of these are of the most modern and efficient design.
Iran continues to refuse to cooperate with IAEA inspectors on the one hand, while claiming they have nothing to hide on the other.
This group -- including Richard Holbrooke, James Woolsey, Dennis Ross and Mark Wallace -- announced the formation of a group called
"United Against Nuclear Iran.
"
It is true that the window is closing.
It is true that Iran could soon have enough enriched uranium for a nuclear bomb.
It is true that thus far sanctions have not slowed Iran's march towards nuclear weapons.
But these facts should not lead us to desperation or despair. These facts should instead create a sense of urgency to secure the kind of sanctions and divestment which can make a difference before it is too late.
There have been signs all along that Tehran's leaders actually do respond to sanctions. When sanctions have hurt the Iranian economy, they have helped to fuel political protest and domestic unrest on Iran's streets.
The mullahs who wield ultimate power in Iran have then reigned in extremists like President Ahmadinejad. The problem with sanctions has not been that they have been ignored. The problem has been that they have not been tough enough.
The only way that sanctions can work is if they are supported by a broad international consensus.
When the United States has led, there has been progress. We need to keep leading.

When we were on Capitol Hill in July.... I spoke of sanctions and was immediately told they don't work, after being confronted with information on how that very week France imposed sanctions...a let up was felt and the conversation took a turn. By the end of the meeting it was stated and I quote "We realize in the end, sanctions are the only thing that really work". end quote.
LET'S NOT BICKER OVER THE SMALL STUFF.
While a man equal to or crazier than Hitler...rambles off the same kinds of threats as Hitler...this time with more power. Nuclear Power.
If we cannot see (or don't want to see) what is clearly being threatened by those with nuclear power
